Europa

England:

Ipods are everywhere, more so than Western’s campus. Tennis shoes or any white shoes are basically not so hot right now. As happens everytime I visit England, someone kills themself on train tracks. I guess when guns are outlawed you have to be more creative with your suicides.

On Monday I took the London Underground to the airport, flew to Norway, rented a car and drove it onto a ferry. The only forms of transportation we didn’t use include busses and taxis. (we did ride a tram at the airport to get to the gate)

Norway:

Back to cars on the right side of the road (I mean correct as well as opposite of left). Speeds are still in kilometers. The biggest road I’ve seen so far has a yellow line down the middle, and one lane in each direction. Most other roads are barely wide enough for a mini-cooper. There is no such thing as a one way road either. The rental car place gave a BMW. It’s really fun to drive stick when you barely remember, and you can’t see around the bend ahead on the 6ft (sorry, 2m) wide road. All beer cans in Norway are tall-boys. Everything is a pilsner, which is a fancy word for lager, which is a fancy word for budweiser.

I’ve spent most of my time drinking black coffee, walking for about 12 hours a day, killing Nicks phantom ssh processes daily, butchering the language by making stuff up in order to stand out as more of an obnoxious American.

I hope you are all out of a job because ResTek has burned to the ground while I was gone.
