How cool is that
Not every day you discover your grandfather has a wikipedia entry:
Happy Birthday Woody!
Our precious dog Woody turns 12 today. Has to be the most photographed dog, ever.

referrers (referers?)
I’ve been doing a bit of apache logfile analysis today. I always get a kick out of the quirky search terms that lead people to my site. Apparently I’m the leading site for packeteer warez searches. Here’s a few of the funnier entries from the past few months:

Imported my old blog
I was bored tonight and found my old blog rotting on my server. Importing from movable type to wordpress was pretty easy, but first I had to delete 3000 plus comment spams that collected in the 2-3 years since I last used it.
It’s weird reading posts I wrote back in 2002 (yeah, that’s soooo long ago…) Lots of references to outdated Mozilla products: mozilla, phoenix, firebird.
Hiking
A few friends and I have started a tradition of going on Adventures every Saturday afternoon. The requirement is that it takes just a few hours, is fun, probably outdoors, and not too hard. Past Adventures include jumping off Whatcom Falls and stomping down the creek, hiking to Teddybear “accidental nude beach” Cove, and something else that I’m forgetting.
This weekend we were a little adventurous and went on a nice hike up by Mt. Baker called Skyline Divide.

Half the fun was driving 12 miles up a “one lane” Forest Service road. That took about 45 minutes, each way. After hiking uphill for about an hour and a half you finally get to sit down and eat your sub sandwitch. There were unconfirmed reports that I was complaining and “being difficult.” Don’t make me exert energy if I’m at all hungry.

At the top you can follow a ridge for quite a ways towards Baker. We continued for about a mile, but speculated that you could probably just walk right to the top if you kept going.
